The Miroslava commune

Location

The commune Miroslava , with its components villages is part of the settlements that first occur mentioned in historical documents of the XIV-XV centuries, a group of villages that form a real strip which crosses The Gate Poarta Tg.Frumos and extends to the “cost of Iasi” up to the old capital of Moldavia.

Population

Commune Miroslava has a total population of 8936 inhabitants with the fallowing structure:
* Activ population - 3741
* Occupied population - 3399
* Unemployed - 342

The territorial component

Commune Miroslava has comprises 13 (thirteen) villages :
* CIURBESTI-is located in the south part of the center of Ciurea, at 8-9 km, it was mentioned in the official documents in 1503-has a pound.
* CORNESTI-is located southwest of the center of the commune, at 6Km, it was mentioned in the official documents in 1613;
* located in the south part of the center of Miroslava, at 4 km, was mentioned in the official documents in 1820;
* GAURENI-from 1583;
* HORPAZ-from 1646;
* MIROSLAVA-is the center of the commune, located at the County Road 248A,was mentioned in the official documents in 1579;
* URICANI-is located in the west part of Miroslava, at 5 km, was mentioned in the official documents in 1456;

The administrative area is 8257ha. It has a land area of 745 ha, representing 35% of the existing farm land.

Touristic objectives/ protected areas/ monuments

Floristic reserve – Secular hayfields from Valea lui David-46,36ha,deontological park- part of the Miroslava’s agricultural college, forest reserve Uricani, there are 258 ha water gloss in the water accumulation from Ciurbesti,Cornesti,Ezareni,Valea Ursului,Uricani, which can be exploited economically ( fisheries and recreational).
